Elmer Ralph Patsel, Jr, 80, of Concord, formerly of Bluefield, VA, died Friday, April 22, 2016 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Jane Wells Patsel.
Born in Roanoke, June 25, 1935 he was a son of the late Elmer Ralph "Pete" Patsel, Sr., and Wynnie Blosser. Ralph was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. He retired from Bluefield State College as the Registrar. Ralph's career was broad and diverse. He had a huge influence on many lives and they were positively impacted.
He is survived by his son, R. Neel Patsel of Alexandria; two sisters, Jonell Black of Hardy and Audrey Thrasher and husband, John of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Lauren Patsel of Gainsville, FL and Heather Kelly and husband, Dalton of Greensboro, NC; his best friend, John Cardwell and wife, Wendy.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra King and nephews, Kiley Thrasher and Billy King.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8p.m., at Robinson Funeral Home, Tuesday, April 26, 2016.
A visitation will be held at Dudley's Funeral Home in Bluefield, VA, from 6 until 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2016.
Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Parkview Baptist Church in Bluefield, VA, with burial following in Maple Hill Cemetery.
