Elman Hudson Collins, 89, of Midway Road, Red House, died Saturday October 5, 2013.
Elman was born in Charlotte County, VA on July 22, 1924, a son of the late Della Trammell and Johnie Hudson Collins. He was a retired tobacco farmer and a member of Bible Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Edith K. Collins; three nephews, William Randolph Collins, John Grey Collins and James Edward Collins; and a great-niece, Ashlyn Rose Collins all of Lynchburg.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Randolph Grey Collins and a niece, Rose Mary Collins.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Centra Home Health and Centra Hospice for the care and concern provided to Elman during his illness.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday October 10, 2013 at Bible Baptist Church, Appomattox officiated by the Rev. Robert E. Lee and the Rev. Jonathan Watson. Burial will follow in Halifax Baptist Church Cemetery at 3:30 p.m.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 7-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2013.
