Obituary

On Saturday Morning, May 27, 2017, Ellis Caudill was called home to be with His Savior, whom he loved and served with all his heart.

Surviving him in this earthly journey is his faithful and loving wife, Dorothy; his children who will miss his presence so dearly, Mrs. Jackie Smith and husband, Rick, Mrs. Joni Smith and husband, Kevin, Mr. John Caudill and wife, Dawn, and Mrs. Julie Nash and husband, Mark, and Jane Caudill. He also leaves 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and three brothers, Quenton, Benton, and Carl D.

Ellis was born on November 11, 1932 in Sharkey, Ky., and was predeceased by his parents, a sister, a brother, and his grandson, Adam.

He earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati and a Master's degree in administration from Xavier University. His life was given primarily to a unique and impactful ministry of teaching which included both public and Christian education. God also used him as a pastor, missionary, and camp director. He was involved in almost every level and office of Christian service.

His wife Dorothy was the light of his life and his family was at the heart of all he did in his service for God. Known affectionately as "Mister C" by his students, his classroom charisma will never be forgotten by those who had the delight and privilege of sitting under his instruction.

A funeral service will be held at noon, on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Pate Chapel at Thomas Road Baptist Church by Pastor Kevin Smith and Pastor Jonathan Falwell. A private family burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at the chapel.
