Josie Jamerson Ferguson
Appomattox: Ella Josephine (Josie) Jamerson Ferguson, 97, died Thursday, May 18, 2006 in Southside Community Hospital. She was the wife of the late Tommie Wiley Ferguson.
Born in Appomattox County, October 27, 1908, she was a daughter of the late Roland Ferguson and Ella Walton Jamerson. Josie was a member of Grace Hills Baptist Church. She was active in the WMU, assisted in the church nursery, and served as church secretary for Liberty Baptist Church. During the past four years, Josie was a resident of the Appomattox Health Care Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Joella F. Means of Appomattox and several nieces and nephews.
Five brothers, Paul Jamerson, Roland Walton Jamerson, William Russell Jamerson, James Everette (Dutch) Jamerson, and Raymond Francis (Red) Jamerson and three sisters, Louise J. Meanley, Mary J. Harris, and Carrie J. Martin preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, May 20, 2006 at Grace Hills Baptist Church by the Rev. Wes Williams, Dr. Carl Collins and the Rev. Robert Alderman. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robison Funeral home today from 7-8:30 pm and other times at the home of her daughter, 412 Walton Dr.
