Ella Aileen Kress Hodges, 82, of Pumping Station Road, Appomattox, died Thursday, May 17, 2018 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Carl Lee Hodges.

Born in Appomattox County, May 18, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Ella Jane Price and Tom Scott Kress. Ella was a member of Heart of Worship Ministries and worked at Spout Spring Nursing Home as a caregiver for many years. She was a private sitter for numerous families throughout the Appomattox community.

She is survived by four children; Dorothy Lee Bryant and husband, Junior, Ronnie Paige Hodges and wife, Kathy, Nancy Ann Mayberry and husband, Louis all of Appomattox, Richard Allen Hodges of Spout Spring; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, including two special nieces who she considered her daughters, Ella Mae Godsey and Betty A. Campbell, and a loving nephew Danny Kress.

She was preceded in death by a son William McKinley "Billy" Hodges.

A funeral service will be held 2pm., Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. David Chavis officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service at Robinson Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
