Elizabeth Diane McCormick Waldo, 74 of Appomattox, left this earth to be with her heavenly father, Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at UVA Medical Center. She was the loving wife of Robert Marion Waldo for 56 years.
Born in Appomattox, April 28, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Mary "Bill" Jamerson and Mott W. McCormick. Diane was a lifetime member of Reedy Spring Baptist Church, where she was Sunday school class Treasurer/Secretary. She enjoyed volunteering for Relay for Life, Habitat for Humanity, Appomattox Historical Society and the Lunch Buddy Program at A.P.S. She loved giving of her time to all those she loved. She had a passion for life. Her smile would light up the room wherever she went.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Marie W. Mullins and husband, Timmy of Appomattox and Robert L. "R.L." Waldo and wife, Julie of Lynchburg; five grandchildren, Tyler Mullins and wife, Bailey, Drew and Callie Waldo, Rachel Turner and husband, Jonathan, Noah Waldo and fiancé Tatum Sanderson and Grace America Waldo; four great-grandchildren, Laken Rae Mullins, Miller Waldo, Seth Waldo and Sam Turner.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Denise Waldo.
A funeral service will be held 7 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2018 at Reedy Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Davis and Rev. Jeff Worley officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.
A private family burial will be held Saturday, at Reedy Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
