Obituary

Concord: Frances Elizabeth Childress Moore, 79, of Beckham Rd., died Monday, November 12, 2007 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Howard Ray Moore.
Elizabeth was a devoted wife, mother, Big Ga, sister, and aunt. She was an avid fisherman and baseball fan, enjoyed reciting poetry and singing folklore songs.
Born in Lynchburg, May 16, 1928, she was a daughter of the late John William Childress Sr. and Lena Burks Childress. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a van driver for CVCA.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Ray Phelps of Appomattox, Alicia and Rex Gallier of Concord, Shawn and Jeff Martin of Madison Heights; two sons and a daughter-in-law, William (Billy) and Tammy Moore and Richard Wayne Moore all of Concord; three brothers, Clifford (Buck) Childress of Penn., Jeremiah (Pie) Childress of Gladstone, and Calvin Childress of Appomattox; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert (Bobby) Moore, three sisters, Annabelle Bryant, Esther McCormick, and Virginia Bryant and a brother, John William Childress, Jr.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, November 16, 2007 at Trinity United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert Thorne and the Rev. Jerry Childress. Burial will follow at Moore's Peaceful Valley Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7-8:30 pm at Robinson Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
