Elizabeth Bannon "Betty" Hunter, 73, of Dunn Roaming Road, Appomattox, died Friday, April 4, 2008 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the loving wife of C. Kendall Hunter, Jr. for 51 years. She was an employee of the Federal Bureau of Investigation before becoming a lifetime homemaker.
Born in Carbondale, PA., February 7, 1935 she was a daughter of the late Ambrose A. and Miriam Bannon. She attended Appomattox Court Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws, Brett and Tammy Hunter, of Appomattox, and Mark and Judy Hunter, of Rustburg; two daughters and a son-in-law, Karen H. and Keith Maxey, of Rustburg, and Kelly H. Mitchell of Eagle Rock: one grandson, Kyle Maxey, of Blacksburg, one step-grandson, Edwin Litchford, of Rustburg; four granddaughters, Heather Maxey, of Charlottesville, Meghann Mitchell of Harrisonburg, Jaymie Mitchell, of Richmond, and Samantha Hunter, of Appomattox; a sister, Rosemary McCann; and two brothers, A. Frank Bannon, Jr., and Edward Bannon; and a special friend and cousin, Kay Kiuyoub.
Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 9, 2008, in Liberty Cemetery by the Rev. Cameron Smith.
