Elizabeth "Betsy" Ferguson Reynolds, 89, departed to be with the Lord on Friday, July 29, 2022. She was the loving wife of Alfred Dean Reynolds for nearly 74 years.

Born in Appomattox County, VA, on August 12, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Paul Coleman Ferguson and Emma Elizabeth Gregory Ferguson. Betsy was a long-term resident of Lynchburg, VA, which included being a faithful member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. She was a retired playground supervisor for the Lynchburg Department of Recreation for 33 years, where she helped hundreds of children.

In addition to her husband, Betsy is survived by two sons, Rev. Donald W. Reynolds and wife, Nancy of Denton, MD and Rev. Steve K. Reynolds and wife, Debbie of Chantilly, VA; and a brother, Paul Gregory Ferguson of Madison Heights, VA. She was affectionately known as "Mema" by her seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Betsy was a remarkable person who deeply loved God, her family, and others. She was the kind of person that EVERY single person she met, whether it was someone she knew deeply, like family, or someone she just met, like the server at a restaurant, she noticed SOMETHING SPECIFIC to point out that was positive and compliment them.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Robinson Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Don Reynolds and Rev. Steve Reynolds, her two sons. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. In honor of Betsy many will be wearing red, her favorite color and her nail color nearly all the time.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
