Elizabeth Ann Morris Coles, 73, of 127 Spicer Rd., died Monday, August 17, 2009 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Herman Perry (Sam) Coles, Jr.
Born in Appomattox County, May 28, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Edward "Jack" Morris and Alice Mable Evans Morris. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a retired nurse from the Central Virginia Training Center, with 42 years of service.
She is survived by a son, Michael Perry Coles; a daughter, Judy Alexander and husband Glenn all of Lynchburg; two brothers, James Morris and wife Annie Laura of Rustburg, Joseph Morris and wife Martha of Prattville, AL; three sisters, Rebecca Kugler and husband John of Tampa, FL, Jane Perdue and husband Charles of Appomattox, Dorothy Fox and husband, John of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren, Amy Nicole Shull, Christal Crickenberger and husband Peanut, Travis Shull, Brandon Scott Coles, Kelly Denise Coles, Kristi Huntington, Brittney Alexander; seven great-grandchildren, Kailie Coles, Brooklyn Coles, Andrew Huntington, Samuel Cole Crickenberger, Andy Coles, Olivia Tyree, and Owen Crickenberger.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Alexander (Bear) Coles, and a brother, Aubrey Morris.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday August 21, 2009 at Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Frank Casper. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home on Thursday, August 20, 2009 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and other times at the residence.
