Eliza Gowen McFadden
Eliza Ella Gowen McFadden, 81, of Gladstone was forever embraced by the Lord on Saturday, December 29, 2012, due to complication from an unforeseen illness. She was the wife of the late Bruce Lyle McFadden.

Born in Gladstone, VA on July 16, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Hattie T. and Robert Lee Gowen. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and a retired seamstress. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clement Thomas Thomas.

She is survived by three sons, William A. McFadden of Chesterfield, Bruce L. McFadden, Jr. of Amelia, and Robert A. McFadden of Bedford; six daughters Mary M. Stocks of Petersburg, Deborah Clary of Chesterfield, Barbara Thomas Dickinson of Powhatan, Bernadette Melton of Varina, Eliza (Judy) Seckman of VA Beach, Phyllis Nichols of Glen Allen; three brothers, Albert, Robert, and Garland Gowen; two sisters, Rosa (Posie) Mitchell and Mildred Tyree; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held noon, Saturday, January 5, 2013, in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 2938 Oakleigh Ave., Appomattox by Father Jim Gallagher with burial following in Gladstone Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
