Eleanor Carolyn Somazze, 85, of Lynchburg, died Wednesday, July 20, 2022.  She was the wife of Richard "Dick" L. Somazze, Sr.

Born in Maryland, June 29, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Louise Cassada and Carroll Messick.

She is survived by two children, Richard "Rich" Somazze, Jr. of Blacksburg and Carolyn Fodel of Winston-Salem, N.C.; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Somazze of Albuquerque, N.M., Patrick Somazze, Lacey Somazze both of Blacksburg, Duncan Fodel and Connor Fodel both of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two sisters, Elizabeth Redding of Urbana, Ill., and Zora Siemasko of Lexington Park, Md; two nieces, Karyn Siemasko of Raleigh, N.C., and Zora Snyder and husband, Harvey of Va.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Hanna Somazze.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Robinson Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Cumbie Memorial Cemetery, Rustburg.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Robinson Funeral Home.
