Elayne Garrett Ross, 55, of Gahanna, Ohio and formerly of Appomattox, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 18, 2011.
Elayne was born August 15, 1955 in Richmond, Virginia.
Elayne believed in helping others and never met a stranger. Her spirit and enthusiasm created an environment that made people want to be near her.
Her main passion in life was her family including her mother, Delories Tanner Hopkins, her son Jamielee Hargis and his wife, Tracy of Ohio, five lovable granddaughters who affectionately referred to her as "Nanny Cool"; two sisters, Wanda Cifers and her husband Leo of Richmond; Linda Denitto of Lynchburg; two brothers, Roy Hopkins, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Appomattox, William (Billy) Hopkins and his wife Angie of Mobile, AL; step-sister, Shirley Hopkins Blackwell of Virginia Beach, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends including her very special friend, Will Porter.
Elayne was preceded in death by her husband, Lemore Ross, her father James Garrett and step-father, Roy D. Hopkins, Sr.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM from Robinson Funeral Home, Appomattox by Dr. Chris King with cremation to follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 AM.
