Elaine Bobbitt Moore, 83, of Liberty Chapel Road, Appomattox, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, on Tuesday morning May 6, 2014 at her home that she shared with her husband, Wiley Alton "T" Moore for 66 years.

Born in Hopewell, Va., on December 28, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Willie G. and Agnes Wingfield Bobbitt. She was a homemaker, a member of Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the Oakville Home and Garden Club.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Calvin Bruce Moore and wife, Patti; Brenda Moore Lewis and her husband, Gary; Beverly Moore Bowman and husband, Wayne all of Appomattox; and Berneta Moore Langford and husband, Billy of Forest; eight grandchildren, Jamie Lewis, Shannon Lewis (Tamara), Karen Lethcoe (David), Benton Bowman (Jean), Tommy Moore (Victoria), Claudia Hamilton (Ben), Emily Hamilton (John), Diane Goin (Michael); 16 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Claude Allen and Norma Moore of Appomattox; and sister-in-law, Barbara Bobbitt of North Bend, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by a brother, W.G. (Billy) Bobbitt.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 at Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church by the Rev. Larry Mann. Burial will follow in the Moore Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service and other times at the residence.

The family wants to acknowledge the love and care provided by all during her times of illness especially to her caregivers, Carla, Sharon, Tina, Diane, and Lea.
