Edward L. Thomas, Jr.
Appomattox: Edward Lee Thomas, Jr., 76, of Rt. 3, died Thursday evening, November 25, 2004 in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Ruby C. Thomas.
Born in Appomattox, Co., September 25, 1928, he was a son of the late Della Carter and Edward Lee Thomas, Sr. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, the Appomattox Moose Lodge #975, an U.S. Army veteran and a retired machinist with Courtland Mfg.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Russell Thomas and his wife, Debbie of Lynchburg and Dennis Thomas and his wife, Peggy Sue of Concord; one daughter, Janet T. Dattilio and her husband, John of Jacksonville, Fl; one brother, Robert C. (Bobby) Thomas of Appomattox; two sisters Maxine T. Bryant and her husband, Gene of Appomattox and Mary T. Turner of Lynchburg; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, November 29, 2004, at New Hope Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery,
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, Sunday at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
