Edward Francis Rees, 64, of Richmond Hwy, Appomattox, died Thursday evening at his residence. He was the husband of Michelle K. Rees.
Born in Olean, N.Y., March 1, 1944, he was a son of the late Wayne Curtis and Vivian Grace Simar Rees. He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church and was an electrician having retired from Archer Creek Foundry .
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children; Timothy Edward Rees and his wife, Cheryl, Appomattox, Andrew Joseph Rees, Austin, TX, Wesley David Rees and his wife, Peggy, Hopkinsville, KY, Sara Lyn Maddox and her husband, Pete, Lynchburg, and Bradley Stephen Rees and his wife, Holly, Bedford; one brother, Ronald D. Rees and his wife, Rena, Spotsylvania; one sister, Karen R. Ruffner and her husband, Rick, Alleghany, N.Y.; his step-mother, Mary Ann Rees, North Tonawanda, N.Y.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, February 16, 2009 at Thomas Terrace Baptist Church by the Rev. Roy Newman and the Rev. David Heerspink. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Sunday, at Robinson Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
