Obituary

Edward Eugene "Curly" Ogden, Sr., 82, of Farm Crest Road, Concord, died Monday night February 2, 2015 at his residence. He was the husband of Julia Gibson Ogden.

Curly was born in Tye River, Amherst County on August 25. 1932 a son of the late Mary Loving and Warren Hilton Ogden. Curly was a member of New Concord Presbyterian Church, a Army veteran of the Korean War and a retired bulldozer operator for English Construction.

In addition to his wife, Julia, Curly is survived by three children, Debbie Roach and husband, Johnny of Huddleston; Sandy Mays and Edward Ogden, Jr. both of Concord; seven grandchildren, Doug Roach, Tonia Roach Perdue, Scotty Roach, Mandy Roach, (James), Calvin Mays, Tiffany Mays and Cheyenne Roach, (Anthony); four great-grandchildren; Wayne Perdue, Wiley Hambrick, Christi Klein, Brooklyn Mays; a sister, Blanche Moore of Appomattox; and two brothers, Warren Ogden of Roanoke and James Ogden of Concord.

Curly was preceded in death by a grandson, Jamie Eugene Roach; a brother, Claude Ogden and a sister, Rosey Campbell.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Saturday February 7, 2015 at New Concord Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. George C. Goodman. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home on Friday February 6, 2015 from 7-9pm and at other times at the residence.
