Obituary

Edward Cash Coffey Sr., 70, of Hundley Springs Road, Appomattox died Thursday, January 14, 2015, in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Greta Hayes Coffey.

Born in Welch, West Va., on June 12, 1944, he was a son of the late Mary Ann Cash and James Granville Coffey. He was a retired crane operator for the Newport News Shipyard.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Edward Coffey Jr and David Coffey both of Appomattox and Benjamin Coffey and wife, Annie of Spout Spring; a daughter, Edna White of Appomattox; a granddaughter, Jessica White; and a brother, Thomas A. Coffey and wife, Marie of Luray.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph M. Coffey and four brothers.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home on Friday, January 16, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, in Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Orville Gregory with burial following in Central Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family would be most appreciative of donations to help with Edwards medical expenses.
