Edith Fitzgerald, 87, died Friday, March 23, 2007 in Cookeville, TN. Born in Washington County, January 12, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Wiley Jefferson and Mary Winnie Myers Smith.
Mrs. Fitzgerald was of the Methodist faith. She was a retired retail buyer and had been associated with Baldwin Department Store in Lynchburg, Schwarz Department Store and Smith and Welton Department Store both in Norfolk.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis B. Fitzgerald, Jr. (They were married for over 60 years when he died September 12, 1998); a sister, Mary McDearman; and two brothers, James Smith and Charles Smith.
She is survived by her son, Francis B. Fitzgerald III of Cookeville, TN; grandson, Scot Fitzgerald of Charleston, SC; brother, Fred Smith of Appomattox; and three sisters, Dora Ramsone of Virginia Beach, Garnett Marshall of Lynchburg, and June Lowe of Abington.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home by Rev. Doug Franklin with interment to follow in Pamplin Community Cemetery.
