Edward Allen McFadden, Sr., 59, of Red House Rd., Appomattox, died Friday, July 29, 2011, in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Rose Burks McFadden.
Born in Lynchburg, on July 19, 1952, he was a son of the late Caroline McFadden Tweedy and the late Edward Samuel Gentry. Allen was an auto mechanic and a US Navy Veteran.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Edward Alan McFadden, Jr. and wife, Deena of Gladstone; a daughter, Abigail McFadden Ayers and husband, Chris of Evergreen; three brothers, Tony McFadden and wife, Karen of Pamplin, William (Smiley) Bryant and wife, Faye of Appomattox, Bruce Wayne Eldridge and wife, Julie of West , VA; two sisters, Delores Clatterbuck of Charlottesville and Bonnie Eldridge of Concord; six grandchildren, Tiler, Dakota, Spring, Autum, Matthew, and Andrea; adopted children, Karen Goin and Eric Guill of Evergreen; adopted grandchildren, Derek, Vanessa, Brennen, and Jarred Goin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 31, 2011, in Gladstone Cemetery by the Rev. Kenny Lawhorne and Pastor Robert E. Lee with military rites accorded by American Legion Post #104 and VFW #9855 combined honor guard. The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home, Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
