Obituary

Edward Keith Harris, 78, of Twin Tunnel Lane, Evergreen died as a result of a tornado on February 24, 2016. He was the husband of Nancy Evans Harris.

Born in Amherst County, on January 10, 1938, he was a son of the late Anna Ferguson and Tandy Douglas Harris. He was a member of Evergreen United Methodist Church, retired from Thomasville Furniture, and was a farmer.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Patty H. Bryant and husband, Bayes "Bear" of Evergreen and Christy Harris of Appomattox; five grandchildren, Robert Keeler, Jr., Brandon Keith Bryant, Sharon Bryant, Devon Burrell, and Alex Hamlett III; three sisters, Anna H. Ferguson, Nellie H. Martin, and Juanita Milstead and her husband, Ashby; five brothers, Lewis Harris and wife, Marilyn, John (Pete) Harris and wife, Brenda, Clyde Harris and wife, Mary, MacArthur Harris, and Ernest Harris and wife, Lucy; one brother-in-law, Bruce Hackett; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by six sisters, Frances Douglas Harris, Mary Ocie Harris, Emily Alice Harris, Millie H. Sieglitz, Ruby H. Barnes, and Elizabeth H. Hackett, and three brothers, William Walker (Brown) Harris, Norman Burge (Cracker) Harris, and Tandy W. Harris, Sr.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 29, 2016, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Herndon Jeffreys with burial following in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday, February 28, 2016 from 2 until 4 p.m.
