Obituary
Dorothy Lee (Dot) Eagle Phelps, 67, of Appomattox, passed into heaven on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, in Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born in Lynchburg, VA, on March 29, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Virginia Thompson and John Dillard Eagle, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Scott Phelps, Sr.
She is survived by two sons, Samuel Scott Phelps, Jr. (Gaynell) of Concord and
Douglas Shannon Phelps (Melissa) of Appomattox; seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Shannon, Joshua, Austin, and Samuel Phelps, Ian and Jacob Taylor; two sisters, June (Judy) Byers and Carolyn (Curley) Tyree (Roger); and four brothers, J. D. Eagle, Jr. (Lisa), Mike Fink (Denise), Johnny Eagle, and Jason Eagle (Emily).
A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 31, 2014, in Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Frank Casper. Burial will follow in the Phelps Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 30, from 7-8:30 p.m.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Medical ICU at Centra and their gratitude and love to Dr. Joseph Khoury and staff for their care and concern for Dot during her illness.
