Dorothy Pauline McCracken
Dorothy Pauline Graves McCracken, 80, of Appomattox, died at her residence, August 2, 2008. She was the wife of John Beverly McCracken, Sr. for 63 years.
Born in Albemarle County, February 8, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Theodore Graves and Mary Virginia Thomas Graves. Dorothy was a member of Liberty Chapel Baptist Church and a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons; John B. McCracken, Jr., and wife Mary of Alexandria, and David L. McCracken, and wife Teresa of Appomattox; four daughters, M. Linda Lane, and husband George of Kearneysville, WV, Susan Gail Musick, and husband Jay of Appomattox, Lisa Martin, and husband Tony of Appomattox, and Barbara Jean Lane of Manassas; one brother, T. Micklin Graves of Alexandria; two sisters, Darlene G. Baker, and husband Robert of Michigan, and Sharon Tillman, and husband Marti of Woodbridge; 12 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at Liberty Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. Robert Wilson, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, August 4, 2008, and other times at the residence.
