Dorothy Jean White Jimison, 82, of Edgewood Street, Appomattox died Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Don Franklin Jimison.

Born in Logan County, West Va., on April 12, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Effie Egleston and Ed E. White. She was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Baptist Church where she served as coordinator of the Good Years senior activities. Dorothy formerly served as an organist for Elon Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband she is survived by one son, John Frederick Jimison and his wife, Victoria of Henrico; two granddaughters, Katherine Rose "Katie" Jimison and Lucinda Violet "Lucy" Jimison; and a sister, Helena Roomy of Charleston, West Va. Dorothy was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 17, 2015 in Liberty Baptist Church by the Dr. Rusty Small. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 7 until 8:30 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2015.
