Obituary
Dorothy (Jackie) Cyrus Lankford, 78, died Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Retreat Hospital, Richmond following a long battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Murrell G. Lankford.
Born in Appomattox County, October 15, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Mott and Aurelia Chenault Cyrus.
She is survived by daughter, Sherri Lee of Lynchburg and Susan Dalton of Glen Allen; grandchildren, Allen Robertson, Brandi Morgan and husband, Jason all of Rustburg, and Scott Dalton of Glen Allen; great grandchildren, Hunter and Aleighson; a sister, Mildred Blackburn; special nieces and nephews, Mike and Carolyn Lawson, Pam and Billy Mann, and Rodney and Donna Lawson; many other nieces and nephews and many friends in Farmville.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 1:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm in Reedy Springs Baptist Church. The burial will be a private family service in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 1030 Oakleigh Ave., Appomattox, VA 24522.
