Dorothy Jennings Cash, 92, of Horseshoe Road, passed away, Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife for 61 years of the late Adrian Rudolph Cash.

Born in Mt Pleasant, Amherst County, February 6, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Beulah Mays and Henry Reed Jennings.

While living in Amherst, Dorothy was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Upon moving to Appomattox, she joined Mount Comfort United Methodist Church. In 1942 she graduated from Amherst High School with honors and attended Lynchburg General School of Nursing as a Cadet Nurse. After graduating from nursing school she worked for years at Lynchburg General Hospital including in the first intensive care unit. In addition to her love of nursing and caring for others she loved serving the Lord and her family.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Henry Rudolph (Rudy) and Rose Cash of Gladys, and Daniel (Danny) Adrian and Brenda Cash of Appomattox; a daughter, Nancy Ellen Haley of Springfield, Ohio; five grandchildren, Melissa Cash Walker, and her husband, Billy, Shane Cash and his wife Julie, Brian Haley, Adria Haley and Scotty Cash, and his wife Hope; two step-grandchildren, Rick Haley and Stephen Haley; two great-grandchildren, Logan Russell Cash, and Taylor Belle Cash, two step-great-grandchildren, Ashley and Zoe Haley; and a brother-in-law William B. Morris of Amherst.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lee Jennings, one sister, Lois Jennings Wilcher, one grandson, Thomas Adrian Cash, and a son-in-law Richard (Dick) Haley.

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Monday, September 25, 2017 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Larry Mann.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Robinson Funeral Home.
