Dorothy Hegge Anderson, 83, of Log Cabin Rd., Appomattox, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 9, 2011. She was the loving wife of the late Harold A. Anderson.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, on April 23, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Erling and Tora Salte Hegge. She was a member of Freedom Word Church. Dorothy was an angel of a mother and grandmother, enjoyed gardening, and was known for being a prayer warrior and a wonderful listener.

She is survived by four daughters, Jane Anderson of Long Island, NY; Laurie Anderson Larsen of Staten Island, NY; Audry Anderson Valerio and her husband, Vincent of Staten Island, NY; and Kari Anderson Fratrick and her husband, Andrew of Richmond and seven grandchildren, Kirsten Larsen and her fiancé, Chris Theriault; Anna Marie Beckerich and husband, Matthew; Jason Valerio and fiancée, Christina Barone; Michael Valerio; Sydney Fratrick; Blake Fratrick; and Kari Larsen. She was preceded in death by a sister, Erna H. Klee.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Greg Mayhorn with burial following in Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8: 30 p.m. at the funeral home Monday, April 11, 2011.
