Obituary
Doris Gloria Hissem, 94, of Appomattox died Friday, September 16, 2016 in Runk and Pratt of Leesville Road.
Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, on September 23, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Christine Schaub and Francis Edwin Decker. She was a member of Liberty Chapel Baptist Church.
She is survived by two children, Margaret A. Kruschwitz and husband, Fred of Appomattox and George O. Maxwell and wife, Angela of Nazareth, PA; six grandchildren, William Kruschwitz and Patricia, Jeanine Polasky and Michael, James Kruschwitz and Mindi, David Maxwell and Laura Lee, Benjamin Maxwell and Krista, and Timothy Maxwell; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, George O. Maxwell, Jr. and Carl D. Hissem and two brothers, Chester A. Decker and Robert Decker.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Liberty Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. Brad Childres. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Patrick Henry Boys and Girls Home, PO Box 1398, Brookneal, VA 24528.
