Doris Garrett Fleshman, 81, of Evergreen, died at her home on Sunday November 27, 2011. She was a faithful servant of God, loving, caring, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Doris was always so thoughtful in reaching out to others. When you became a friend, you remained her friend. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Doris was born in Appomattox County, September 30, 1930 a daughter of the late William Calvin and Beatrice Inge Garrett. She was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church, a homemaker and spent many years as a companion to families in need within her community.

Doris is survived by her children, Larry Steven Fleshman of Lynchburg; Donna Marie Jensen and her husband, Paul of Edmond, OK; L.D. Fleshman, Jr. and his wife, Marissa of Appomattox; Melinda Diane Brewer and her husband, Gordon., of Edmond, OK; her sister, Mrs. Louise G. Franklin and her husband, Dick of Appomattox; her brother, David I. Garrett and his wife, Hilda of Rustburg; her grandchildren, Tiffany , Brandon , Adam , Sienna and Samantha, many nieces and nephews and numerous great- nieces and great- nephews . She was preceded in death by a sister Margaret G. Grishaw.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 1, 2011 at 3:00 P.M.in Evergreen Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Chris King. Burial will follow in Evergreen Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 7-8:30 PM, Wednesday, November 30.
