Dooley Chenault, 81, of Old Sawmill Lane, Evergreen, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Josephine K. Chenault.
Born in Appomattox County, June 29, 1926, he was a son of the late Annie Chenault. He was a retired logger.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John and Joan Chenault of Appomattox; a sister, Evelyn Mayberry and husband, Ed of Forest; three step-daughters and their husbands, Dana and Barry Dowdy of Farmville, Peggy and Larry Newcomb of Saxe, and Teresa and Ronnie Dunaway of Red Oak; a daughter-in-law, Geneva Chenault of Pamplin; four grandchildren; one great grandson; 16 step-grandchildren and 24 step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carrie Goin Chenault; a son, Dennis W. Chenault and three step-children, Marilyn Akers, Charles Irvin, and Paul Irvin.
Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2008 in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Farmville, by the Dr. Jerry Jordon.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
