Donald Gilbert Zuppello, 80, of Gum Branch Rd., Appomattox, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Willie Moore Zuppello.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 4, 1932, he was a son of the late AnthonyZuppello and Katherine Steen. He was a member of St. Andrews Reformed Episcopal Church, Springfield Masonic Lodge #217 A.F. & A. M., and was a retired electrical engineer. Don was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean War.
He is survived by his children, Angela Lewis and Russell Zuppello both of Appomattox; two granddaughters, Margaret and Michelle Lewis; a grandson, Tim Jenkins; a brother, Anthony Gorman and wife, Beverly of Oil City, PA; two sisters, Patricia Augustine of Arizona and Mary Ann Dumling and husband, Dan of Yorktown; and two special nieces, "evil" Joyce Patillo and "sweet" Renee McCoy. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald E. Zuppello.
A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home followed by a visitation until 8:30p.m. The family will receive friends other times at the residence.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, in St. Andrews Reformed Church by Father Rodney Longmire. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery with military rites accorded by American Legion Post #104 and VFW #9855 combined honor guard.
