Donald Lee "Duck" Williams, 66, of Morning Star Road, Appomattox, died Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Annette Beaty Williams.
Born in Richmond Va., on March 6, 1950, he was a son of the late Edith Megginson Williams. Duck was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and retired from J. E. Jamerson and Sons, Inc. as a superintendent with over 40 years of service. After retiring almost two years ago, he has enjoyed his golfing with his FRCC family and spending time with his children and spoiling the grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Annette, he is survived by two children, Shannon W. Banton and husband, Phillip of Appomattox and Samuel L. Williams and wife, Jennifer of Phenix; four grandchildren, Marissa Banton, Dillon Banton, Braden Williams and Sydney Williams; a sister, Patsy W. Doctor and husband, Bobby of Quinton; three brothers, George S. Williams, Jr. and wife, Lois of Appomattox, Robert D. Williams, Sr. of Spout Spring, and John T. "Plicky" Williams, Sr. and wife, Mary of Appomattox; his mother-in-law, Helen Mae Beaty; brothers-in-law, Dennis Drinkard of Appomattox and James Beaty and wife, Margarita of Cumming, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Virginia Tweedy and husband, Ray and Carole Foxwell and husband, Neale all of Appomattox; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Drinkard and father-in-law, James A. Beaty, Jr.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Robinson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Babcock Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, September 20 from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
