Donald Gentry Coleman, 84, of Bent Creek Road, Appomattox, died Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Margaret Coleman.

Born in Buckingham County, January 6, 1935, he was a son of the late Alma Gentry and Samuel (Joe) Coleman, Sr. Donald was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He served his country in the United States Airforce during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lisa Coleman Stern and husband, Jeff of Madison Heights, and Lori Coleman Smith of Matthews, NC; one brother, Samuel (Joe) Coleman, Jr.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two step-children, Joanne Watkins and husband, Frank of Palmyra, and Charles Newton, Jr., and wife, Jackie of Charlottesville.

He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Jeffrey Coleman; two brothers, and two sisters.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Worley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m., Friday, May 17, 2019, at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at his residence.
