Dolly Williams Tweedy, 90, of Appomattox, died Wednesday, December 13, 2017. She was the loving wife of the late John Allen Tweedy Jr. for 65 years.
Born in Lynchburg on May 8, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Trigg Holman Williams and Essie Smith Williams. She was a faithful member of Bible Baptist Church, serving as her Sunday School class secretary for many years.
She is survived by three children, Thurman (Buddy) Wilcox and wife, Nancy of Appomattox, Ray Tweedy and wife, Virginia of Appomattox and Debbie Reeves and husband, Anthony of Red House; a son-in-law, William Martin of Appomattox; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy W. Martin and a half-sister, Lucille Williams Daniel.
Dolly was known as "Mumsie" to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends of all ages.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Robinson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jonathan Watson, Rev. Anthony Reeves, and Rev. Paul Kvasnicka officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Robinson Funeral Home.
