Dewey Albert Woods, Sr.

Dewey Albert Woods, Sr., 90, of Appomattox, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. He was the husband of the late Nancy “Ann” Powell Woods for 60 years.

Born on August 24, 1935, in Appomattox, he was the son of the late Calvin Channey Woods and Bertha Irene Lee Woods. Dewey was a member of Appomattox Baptist Temple. He was a retired machinist for Allen-Morrison Signs. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Dewey was a loving grandfather to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by two children, Dewey A. Woods, Jr. and wife, Sherry, and Tracy Woods Campbell and husband, Timothy; his granddaughters, Heather Tomlin and Steven, Haley Campbell and Hannah Powell and Cody; great-grandchildren, Adalyn Tomlin, Tanner Tomlin, and Madden Moore; three siblings, Gary Woods and wife, Donna, J.B. Woods, and Lois Kidd; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Skaggs; and brothers, Calvin C. Woods, Jr., Emory M. Woods, and Jack Thomas Woods.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm, Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home.
