Delmas Clyde Ragland, Sr., 63, of Appomattox, died on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was the husband of Helen Taylor Ragland. Delmas was born on August 7, 1948 in Appomattox County, a son of the late Lewis Douglas Ragland and Estelle Bryant Ragland.

In addition to his wife, Delmas is survived by six brothers, Clarence Ragland and wife, Audrey, Austin Ragland, Calvin "Jack" Ragland, Herman Ragland and wife, Kathy, Robert Ragland and wife, Dianne all of Appomattox and Roger Ragland and wife, Tammy of Pamplin; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Paulette Ragland.

In addition to his parents, Delmas was predeceased by his son, Del Ragland, two brothers, Carroll Douglas "Buck" Ragland and James Ragland; his sister, Virginia R. Spiggle and a nephew, R. L. Ragland, Jr.

Delmas was a former employee of Coleman Farm Supply, Inc. in Appomattox and was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 by the Rev. Jeff Worley at Robinson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post #104 and VFW #9855 combined honor guard.
