Della Louise Underwood Moore, 79, of Liberty Chapel Road, Appomattox, died Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Guggenheimer Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of James Albert Moore, Sr.

Born in Bedford, Va., on January 23, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Ivory O'Bryant and Irvin William Underwood. She was a member of Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband she is survived by three daughters, Peggy Irby and husband, Robert, Brenda Lee Carter all of Lynchburg, and Norma Jean Carter of Appomattox; two sons, Ronald Eugene Carter of Concord and Doug Earl Carter and wife, Claudette of Evington; two sisters, Shirley U. Logwood and husband, Sam of Bedford and Pauline Anderson of Cleveland, Ohio; a special step-son, Tommy Moore; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers.

A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. John Flood.
