David Lee Martin, 86, of Stonewall Road, Concord, died Friday morning July 26, 2013 at his residence. He was the husband of Lillian Martin Martin for sixty-six years.

David was born in Appomattox County on April 9, 1927 a son of the late Lula Goodman and Otho Wesley Martin, Sr. He was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Appomattox Gideon's, Reedy Spring Masonic Lodge #203 A.F. & A. M., Concord Ruritan Club, a former member of the Board of Directors for Farmers Bank of Appomattox and served his country during World War II as a member of the U.S. Army. David was a retired salesman for Barker-Jennings Wholesale Hardware.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Pamela M. Parsons and husband, Jack L. of Richmond, a sister, Annice M. Williams of Forest, three grandchildren, David Neil, Kevin Michael and Lauren Nicole Parsons, one great-granddaughter, Ryan Nicole Parsons, two sisters-in-law, Hazel Lee C. Martin of Appomattox and Charlene M. Moore of Richmond and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Otho W. Martin, Jr. and Clark Martin and four sisters, Carrie Emza Moore, Christine Moore, Isabell Martin and Ellen Martin.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday July 28, 2013 at Trinity United Methodist Church by the Rev. Larry Mann, Rev. Ronnie Morris, Rev. Randolph Martin and the Rev. David R. Drinkard. Burial will follow in Rebecca Cemetery with Masonic Rites.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today (Saturday) from 4-6 PM and other times at the residence.
