David Howard L'Hommedieu

David Howard L'Hommedieu, 67, of Richmond Highway, Spout Spring, died July 23, 2007, at his residence. He was the husband of Mary Ellen Terkelson L'Hommedieu for 44 years. David was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Born in Greenport, NY, August 23, 1939, he was a son of the late Howard L' Hommedieu and Helen W. Reeve L'Hommedieu Floege.
David served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American legion Post #104, Captain in the Riverhead, NY Volunteer Fire Department, Eveready Company #3 and was a self-employed small engine repairman. He was fondly known as Mr. Mower.
In addition to his wife David is survived by two sons, Gary Wade L'Hommedieu, and his wife Sandy, of Hampton Bays, NY, and Gregory Scott L'Hommedieu, and his wife Becky, of Granite Quarry, NC; two daughters, Sheryl Lynn Burghardt, and her husband Chuck, of Hampton Bays, NY, and Jerina Marie Kuettner, and her husband Joe, of Concord; a half-brother, Charles Floege, of Concord NC; and a half-sister, Holly L'Hommedieu, of Long Island NY; 10 grandchildren, Nicole, Jessica, Derrick, Matthew, Lyndsay, Tyler, Trevor, Hunter, Brett, and Bailey; and his mother-in-law, Beatrice Terkelson, of Appomattox.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Hans Floege.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday July 26, 2007, in Robinson Funeral Home with the Rev. Cameron Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post # 104.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 until 8:30 PM, Wednesday night, (tonight), and other times at the residence.
