David Anthony Cyrus, 55, of Rustburg went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 22, 2024.  He was the husband of the late Cathy Allen Cyrus.

Born in Lynchburg, VA, on February 17, 1969, he was the son of Thomas Edward Cyrus Sr. and his wife, Mildred and the late Joyce Poe Cyrus. David loved the Lord having given his life to Jesus many years ago. He was a member of Calvary Cross Baptist Church.

In addition to his father and stepmother he is survived by three children, David Cyrus, Jr. and Christina, Michael Cyrus, and Brittany Dove and Dakhota; two stepsons, Jamie Irby and Jason Irby; eight grandchildren, Haley, Daniel, Kayla, Brandy, Taylor, Timothy Jr., Ethan, and Axel; a sister, Teresa Williams; two brothers, Danny Cyrus and Tommy Cyrus and a special niece, Jennifer Williams.

A celebration of life service officiated by Pastor Wayne Hudson will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, December 28, 2024, ay Calvary Cross Baptist Church, 1700 James Street and Stadium Road, Lynchburg. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
