David (Jake) Bradley Baldwin, Jr., 42, of Bowler Creek Road, Pamplin, died Tuesday night, June 7, 2011, at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville. He was the husband of Sonya Smith Baldwin.

Jake was born in Indiana on September 2, 1968 a son of Shirley Mann and David Bradley Baldwin, Sr. of Pamplin.

He was a member of Rocks Baptist Church and the secretary and web site manager for H & P Hunt Club. Jake was a loving father, son, husband, brother and uncle. He loved his dogs, Scooby, Rex and Duke; loved to hunt and fish and go four wheeling.

In addition to his wife and parents, Jake is survived by his daughter, Sarah Michelle Baldwin of Pamplin; his sister, Carolyn Baldwin of Vera; his mother-in-law, Jeanette Cordell of Evergreen; father-in-law, Ronald Smith of Ohio; a nephew, Jonathan "Boogie" Bell of Appomattox who was like a son to Jake; a nephew, Ryan Ford; sister-in-law Mandy Ayers and her husband, PFC Robert Ayers; three nieces, Jordan, Juliauna and Joslyn Ayers, and a brother-in-law, Steve Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday June 10, 2011 in Rocks Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Moore officiating.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 7-8:30 PM Thursday night and at other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Rocks Baptist Church Building Fund, 393 Rocks Church Road, Pamplin, Va 23958.
