Darrell Christian Watson, 67, of Pamplin, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born on March 15, 1951, in Lynchburg, Va., he was the son of the late Erma Martin and Thomas Christian Watson. Darrell was a rod buster for 30 plus years and enjoyed watching sports and fishing.
Darrell is survived by his sons, Greg Watson and wife, Kelly of Spout Spring and Landon Watson of Appomattox; brothers, Joel T. Watson of Scottsboro, Ala., Stewart Watson and wife, Cindy, and Marshall Watson all of Appomattox; a best friend whom he loved just like a brother, Manny Moreno, Jr. of Lawrence, Kan.; grandsons, Jared Watson of Colorado Springs, Colo., Dylan Watson and wife, Tori of Gladstone, Heath Watson of Appomattox; Nathaniel Watson and Luca Watson both of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two great-grandsons; an aunt, Jearline M. Hawes and husband, Glen of Lynchburg;and numerous nieces and nephews including a very special niece and caregiver, Teresa W. Hastings who loved him dearly.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 5 until 7 p.m. and other times at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Kelly Watson.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at Old Herman Cemetery, Appomattox with his son, Reverend Landon Watson officiating.
