Darlene Johnson Hill, 58, of Spinnaker Point, Forest, died Friday morning May 22, 2015 at her residence. She was the wife of Paul Dwain Hill.
Darlene was born in Lynchburg, on June 26, 1956 a daughter of Nellie Doss Johnson Bryant of Forest and the late Earl Taylor Johnson. She was a former employee of Dairy Queen of Appomattox, a former manager of the Ground Round, owner of the Fat Tuna, formerly a Physical Therapy Assistant at Central Virginia Training Center and recently an Administrative Assistant at Links to Life. Darlene was a talented artist and cook.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, James Paul Hill of McLean; brother, Donald Bryant of Rustburg; two sisters, Brenda Marie Denbow of Lynchburg and Sharon J. Robinson of Rustburg; her canine companion, Nikki; aunts and uncles, Garland and Alice Doss of Appomattox, Barbara D. Metcalf of Darlington Heights, Opal and James Paulette of Appomattox, Doris Johnson of Shipman, Freddy and Marie Johnson of NC; brothers-in-law, Dallas Doss and Kathy, Jim Doss all of Rustburg, Harry Hill, Lewes,DE; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held 7p.m., Tuesday May 26, 2015 at Robinson Funeral Home officiated by Jeff Wilder. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5p.m. until time of services and other times at the home of Sharon Robinson of Rustburg.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to the Challenged Sports Exchange, 2217 Timberlake Road, Suite B-1, Lynchburg, VA 24502 or the Lynchburg Humane Society, 3305 Naval Reserve Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
