Daniel Wencil Herncall, 65, of Walton Drive, Appomattox, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Phyllis Joiner Herncall.

Born in Lynchburg, VA on December 17, 1947, he was a son of the late Marvin A. (Buddy) and Frances Driskill Herncall. He graduated from Lynchburg College with a BA in Business. Dan was an active member of Memorial United Methodist Church, a member of the Lions Club of Appomattox, and a member and President of Falling River Country Club. He was a real estate appraiser and the former owner of Falling River Realty.

In addition to his wife, he was survived by two sons; Chip Herncall of Hampton, VA and Britt Herncall of Houston, TX; two daughters, Courtney Rowe of Appomattox, VA and Allison Rawls of Windsor, VA; a sister, Anne Sefter and her husband, Jim of Myrtle Beach, SC; eight grandchildren, Savannah, Katie, Reese, Jack, Harper, Kellen, Samantha, and a new arrival in June; and Whitman and Stella whom they consider as grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2013, in Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Russell Cheatham. The family will receive friends at the residence.
