Obituary

Appomattox: Daniel Egbert Carson, 72, of Rt. 4, died peacefully after a lengthy illness. Dan was a gentle, kind and giving man.
Born in Appomattox County, October 11, 1933, he was a son of the late Eugene W. and Ruth Glenn Carson. He graduated from Appomattox High School, attended VPI, served his country in the US Army and was a retired dairy farmer. Dan also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and had served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and choir member. Dan together with his wife, Edna volunteered with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board as missionaries in Antigua, West Indies; Santiago, Chile and Limuru, Kenya.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Edna Davis Carson; a son, Daniel Glenn Carson and his fiancé, Debi Lundy of Appomattox; a daughter, Carol Carson Gage and her husband, Jay of Concord; three grandsons, Dylan Lee Carson of Appomattox, Jacob Carson Gage and Cody Daniel Gage both of Concord and one brother, Gene W. Carson of Blacksburg.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, January 12, 2006 at Hebron Baptist Church by the Rev. Dennis Moore and the Rev. Daniel Dockery. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the residence.
