Obituary

Appomattox: Dancy Bernard McCraw, 80, of Rt. 4, died Monday, May 16, 2005 at his residence. He was the husband of Helen M. McCraw.
Dancy was born July 6, 1924, in Buckingham County. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, a farmer, and a member of Hebron Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Perry and Gale McCraw of Appomattox and Jon and Beverly McCraw of Spencer, NC; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Jesse Judy of Luray and Sherry and John Lange of Richmond; three sisters, Virginia Lumpkin of Scottsville, Grace Ownby of Farmville, and Blanche Ownby of Dillwyn; and ten grandchildren, Brandon McCraw, Jake Judy, Douglas McCraw, Annie J. Varney, Jessica Lange, Jami Lange, Nathan McCraw, Jason Lange, Sara Beth McCraw, and Ethan McCraw.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 19, 2005, in Hebron Baptist Church by the Rev. Mitch Luckie. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post 16.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
