Corey Wayne Alkire, 32, of Madison Heights, died Sunday, December 25, 2022, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Morgan Alkire.

Born in Fairfax, VA, on February 19, 1990, he is the son of Tania Wirth of Appomattox and the late Kenneth Wayne Alkire. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was employed by Sandrof Auto Body. A 2008 graduate of Appomattox County High School. Corey enjoyed fishing, cars, tattoos, art, and 4-wheeling in the mountains.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his three daughters, Kierstin Alkire, Brooklyn Alkire, and Ava Alkire; sisters, Heather Alkire and Anna Alkire; brother, Brandon Alkire; niece, Jocelyn Calloway; maternal grandparents, Kathryn Joanne Beeson (John O'Donnell) and Walter Larry Beeson (Anne). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, including a special cousin, Kylie Ortega; his mother-in-law, Tara Jennings; grandmother-in-law, Cynthia Gossom; best friends, Rob Mott and Abraham "Ham" Rossi; and his dog, Zeke.

A celebration of life service officiated by Pastor Chad Harris will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church, 9388 Village Highway, Concord, VA.  The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to help with the care of Corey's daughters.
