Cora Segourney Wooldridge, 87, of Appomattox and formerly of Chesterfield County, died October 15, 2007. She was the wife of the late Richard Wooldridge.
Born in Chesterfield, July 8, 1920, she was the daughter of Etta Elizabeth and Raymond Rudd of Chesterfield. Segourney was an active member of Evergreen Baptist Church, a former member of Tomahawk Baptist Church, and a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by one daughter Jean Carroll Mays of Appomattox; one sister and brother in-law, Audrey and Mac Huband of Chesterfield; nine grandchildren, Tammy Munger, Richard Dixon, Alison Paulette, Marlene Dixon, Wyatt Dixon, Karen Wilborn, Suzanne Johnson, Mark Mays, and Doreen Lawhorne; eighteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Eleanor Elizabeth Dixon; five sisters, Urselle Isaac, Bernice Stevens, Lucille Cadora, Margaret Bush, and Lois Cogbill; and two brothers, Stuart Rudd and Lucian Rudd.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 19, 2007, in Evergreen Baptist Church by Dr. Chris King. Burial will be 3:30 p.m. at Dale Memorial in Chesterfield.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home, Appomattox and other times at the residence of her daughter Jean Mays.
