Cora Belle Wood Clements, 88, of Appomattox, passed away, Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the loving wife of Lawrence Clinton Clements for 70 years.
Born December 9, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Lula Belle Massie and Thomas Screll Wood of Nelson County. Cora was a charter member of Grace Hills Baptist Church and retired after many years of service with Farmers Bank.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Gayle Clements Lucado, and husand Thomas of Appomattox, Lauren Susan Clements Anderson and husband, Ron of Nelson, Patti Karen Clements Moore and husband, Bruce of Appomattox; and Lawrence Timothy Clements of Appomattox; 11 grandchildren, Mandy and Eric Jordan, Penny and Bryon Garrett, Julie Rogers, Susan and Mike Campbell, Russ and Katherine Anderson, Karen and David Lethcoe, Tommy and Victoria Moore, Claudia and Ben Hamilton, Emily and John Hamilton, Clint Clements and Heather Johnson, and Ashley Clements; and sister-in-law, Dorothy White; 31 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Nelson and Ruth Wood
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Grace Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Adam Tyler officiating. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m., in Jonesboro Baptist Church Cemetery, Roseland, VA.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
