Connie Oglesby Martin

Connie Oglesby Martin, 82, of Appomattox, VA, passed away, Friday, July 24, 2026, at her home. She was the wife of the late Alfred Carroll Martin Sr.

Born in Panama City, FL, on March 24, 2026, she was the daughter of the late Willie Pearl Wester and Frank Stoner Oglesby. Connie was a member of Trinity Methodist Church. She worked as a secretary for Appomattox Lime Plant and H.H. Moore Trucking for many years. Connie was a loving mother to her children.

She is survived by three children, Elizabeth Boney Roche, Michael Stoner Martin and wife, Jenny Lou, and Edward Gibbs Martin; five grandchildren, Jonathan Taylor Martin and Logan Shupe, Megan Elizabeth Harvey and Logan, Matthew Gibbs Martin, Philip Gray and Sarah, and Casey Bailey and Josh; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Oglesby Peters and Glenda Oglesby Gentile and husband, David A.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Alfred Carroll “A.C.” Martin Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Trinity Methodist Church Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Wyatt Cudd.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Centra Hospice of Farmville, 1705 East Third Street, Farmville, VA 23901.

The family would like to express a very special thank you to Loretta Bass, along with other caregivers, Marie Durrett, Caitlyn Wilkerson, and the Centra Hospice of Farmville.
